VISION STATEMENT
“As a Board member of EDFAS for the last four years,
I appreciate the challenges we face and better under-
stand how to address them. I wish to serve this Society
for another term so I can focus on ensuring the Society
continues to be of great value to its members. I share the
current Board’s emphasis on education and believe we
can improve in this area, but I alsowant to provide insight
into the direction and compositionof the electronic device
FA market.
Our industry is maturing and, as a result, there is a lot
of consolidation. A related trend is to outsourcemanufac-
turing, whichhas created gaps inwhere andhowFAwill be
handled. Gaps need to be filled, providing a challenge and
an opportunity. I want to identify these gaps and provide
ideas on bridging them. The fablessmodel is pervasive, as
foundry capacity is nowaccessible tomany companies. In
this model, who owns FA? What about intellectual prop-
erty concerns? Is the value of FA realized upfront or only
in an emergency? These are some of the questions that,
as a Society, we can help answer. I would like to provide
