His current research interests are AI-driven computational SEM and laser interferometry-based sub-nmaccuracy beam positioning, including non-raster scanning of the electron beam to enable atomiclevel, high-speed, and accurate dimensional measurements. Daniel S. Swetz has been in the field of precision measurement, quantum technologies, and low temperature detectors for over 20 years. He is the founder and current lead of the Quantum Calorimeter Group at NIST. His work focuses on developing custom measurement technologies that utilize superconducting sensors for a variety of challenging applications including x-ray and gamma ray reference data, tomography, fundamental physics, astrophysics, and nuclear and national security.
