Arvidson has competed in the SFSA Cast in Steel Competition, won Innov8x competitions, and developed a prototype for a levitation device to prepare small-scale materials samples quickly in a contactless environment. He is a member of the school’s Materials Advantage chapter. Diana Morales Vázquez Instituto Tecnológico de Morelia Diana Morales Vázquez is a materi- als engineering student at the Instituto Tecnológico de Morelia, Mexico. She serves as vice president of the school’s Material Advantage Chapter and has actively participated in technical events and research activities related to metallurgy and materials science. Vázquez previously completed an internship at TYASA, where she worked on a spheroidization heat treatment project for SBQ steels. She also completed a summer internship at Ternium in the cold rolling department, gaining hands-on experience in steel manufacturing processes. Her academic interests include physical metallurgy, steelmaking, heat treatment, and quality engineering. Prastuti Upadhyay Drexel University Prastuti Upadhyay is a senior majoring in materials science and engineering at Drexel University. She began conducting research as a freshman in Prof. Dr. Yury Gogotsi’s MXene laboratory. Her first-author paper on MXene air filters, published in the C-Journal of Carbon Research, was well received by the scientific community. She is also a co-author of a publication on x-ray computed tomography published in the journal Small Methods. Upadhyay is an incoming president of Drexel’s Material Advantage chapter and serves as a student ambassador for the College of Engineering and a peer mentor for first-year materials science and engineering students. Edward J. Dulis Scholarship The Edward J. Dulis Scholarship was established in 2003 and is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate member of ASM at the junior or senior level who demonstrates exemplary academic and personal achievements, as well as interest and potential in metallurgy or materials science and engineering. One scholar will receive a certificate and check for $1500 toward educational expenses for one academic year. David Rapelye Rutgers University-New Brunswick David Rapelye is a junior majoring in materials science and engineering, with a minor in criminology, at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. He is a member of a glass science research lab at Rutgers, researching cermet glasses and chemical strengthening processes for glasses. Rapelye is intrigued by the many facets of materials science, especially in the field of glass research and characterization. He is the 2028 representative for the Rutgers New Brunswick Material Advantage chapter and is a member of the Institute for Domestic and Inter- national Affairs, an organization that encourages high school students to learn and engage with domestic and international political issues. John M. Haniak Scholarship The John M. Haniak Scholarship was established in 2003 and is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate member of ASM at the junior or senior level who demonstrates exemplary academic and personal achievements, as well as interest and potential in metallurgy or materials science and engineering. Cameron Sierra Carnegie Mellon University Cameron Sierra is a junior at Carnegie Mellon University, dual majoring in materials science and engineering and biomedical engineering. He conducts undergraduate research developing nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems to advance treatments for diseases such as cancer. Sierra previously worked as an eVinci Product Engineering Intern at Westinghouse Electric Co., contributing to materials characteri- zation projects for advanced nuclear technologies. This past summer, he returned to Westinghouse as a materials science and engineering Intern, exploring how deep learning can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of materials characterization.
