JSW Steel is the largest private steel producer in India and a sustaining member of the Chapter. A delegation of 30 members participated in the visit, which was organized to increase practical industry exposure, build understanding of operational frameworks, and foster professional engagement. During the visit, participants had the opportunity to visit the blast furnace site and hot rolling mill. The tour offered insight into the company’s structure, processes, and best practices. It also provided a deeper look at trends and challenges within the steel sector. Tour group at JSW Steel Ltd. Philadelphia Chapter Hosts ASM President On a recent trip to visit to the ASM Philadelphia Chapter area, ASM President Elizabeth Hoffman, FASM, took time to visit Carpenter Technology Corp. in Reading, Pennsylvania. ASM members gave Hoffman a tour of the company’s manufacturing and distribution center for specialty metals. Minnesota Hosts Manjooran On April 16, ASM Past President Navin Manjooran, FASM, was the featured speaker at the ASM Minnesota Chapter’s meeting on the campus of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
