EDFAS hopes to present more of these kinds of events in 2026. Contact Rose Ring at jmj4papa@yahoo. com for more details. EDFAS SILICON VALLEY FA WORKSHOP The inaugural Silicon Valley Failure Analysis Workshop, hosted by Covalent Metrology Labs in Sunnyvale, Calif. on August 12, brought in 11 speakers to present on a variety of topics including STEM EBIC for advanced semiconductor analysis, advances in 4D and spectral x-ray micro-CT, and much more. Cecile S. Bonifacio, from Fischione Instruments, describes her experience: “It was an immense pleasure and honor to participate as both a sponsor and a speaker at the first EDFAS failure analysis workshop. This free event was a remarkable gathering of industry professionals, technical experts, and FA analysts, and the venue being in Silicon Valley made it possible to have semiconductor FA experts and analysts. “My experience as a speaker was particularly rewarding. The opportunity to present artifact-free specimen preparation in FA workflows to such a knowledgeable and engaged audience was a highlight. The attendees were not only receptive but also highly interactive, posing insightful questions that led to stimulating discussions. The quality of the discussions underscored the high caliber of professionals the workshop attracted and validated the importance of sharing our collective expertise.” Amy Wang with Meta lauded the lab tours: “Having the chance to see almost every lab and get a full picture of the support available was incredibly helpful. Additionally, the exhibition provided a fantastic networking opportunity, and I had many meaningful and inspiring discussions with fellow attendees.” Attendee Rodolfo Lopez said, “As someone wanting to pivot into the field of failure analysis, the workshop was a great environment to learn about the trends and procedures used in labs throughout the electronic device space. It also provided networking opportunities with both presenters and attendees alike.” Participants were impressed by the amount of infor- mation shared. “The EDFAS workshop was a great medley SILICON VALLEY FA WORKSHOPS SILICON VALLEY HOSTS EDFAS FAILURE ANALYSIS WORKSHOPS Speakers and attendees network at the first EDFAS Silicon Valley FA Workshop held in August.
