You must be a member of ASM and EDFAS in order to be considered for candidacy. Nominations are for member-at-large board positions for three-year terms beginning October 1. There are expected to be up to three positions open for nomination and any member of EDFAS in good standing is encouraged to nominate themselves or another member for one of these positions. Incumbents may also seek reappointment by notifying the Awards and Nominations Committee Chair, James Demarest at jjdemar@us.ibm.com. Nominations are due March 1. Candidates who initiate or accept nominations will be asked to provide a one-page nomination package that includes the candidate’s academic/business biography, failure analysis background, EDFAS and ISTFA involvement, vision for the future of EDFAS, photograph, and contact information. Service on the EDFAS Board of Directors involves planning and driving the future strategy of your society. The board meets three times a year by teleconference and holds one face-to-face meeting at ISTFA. Board members also provide liaison support to several EDFAS committees, which may involve additional conference calls. Candidates are encouraged to ensure that they have the support of their employer for this activity. EDFAS is also seeking applicants for its student board member position. Students must be a registered undergraduate or graduate during the 2024-2025 academic year and must be studying or involved in research in the field of failure analysis for the electronic/semiconductor industry. NOTEWORTHY NEWS ANADEF 2024 The 19th ANADEF Workshop will be held June 3-7 at Belambra Business Club, SeignosseHossegor (Landes), France. The conference addresses new issues related to the latest technological developments in electronic component failure analysis, presented through tutorials, plenary sessions, micro-workshops, as well as participation by equipment manufacturers and suppliers. ANADEF, a French nonprofit scientific society established in 2001, meets biennially to bring together industry experts and mechanism scientists concerned with the prevention, detection, and failure analysis of electronic components and assemblies.
