The next step for each council is to share their detailed roadmap challenges with equipment manufacturers, universities, research institutes, and EDFAS members. Coming upwith comprehensive solutions and influencing long-termresearchwill close the cycle of roadmap efforts. For this year, our councils plan to publish their chal- lenges as technical reports and share themwidely on ASM Connect and at ISTFA 2022. The hallmark of the roadmap initiative is active community feedback andopen access to all the reports. The roadmap efforts are truly international with sharing being planned at sister conferences like IPFA in Asia and the CAM workshops in Europe. We encourage your valuable participation by actively providing feedback on challenges you are facing. There are multiple channels available for you via ASM connect ( connect.asminternational.org/edfasistfafatechnology- roadmap/home ), conversing directly with council chairs & members (see Fig. 1) and participating in roadmap sessions planned at ISTFA, IPFA, and CAMworkshops. We hope to have an authoritative FA roadmapwith challenges and solutions clearly defined, thus making our daily lives in the lab much better. The goals of the roadmap initiative are ambitious, yet achievable. We solicit your participation and your valuable opinions, comments, and suggestions on gaps and possible improvements. This will ensure that we produce a meaningful and actionable FA roadmap. Let’s work together to make the FA roadmap initiative a great success!
