He hasworked as a failure analysis engineer for over 15 years in the electronics indus- try and semiconductor industry. He joined Microsoft China in 2013 and has been engaged in failure analysis andmaterial analysis at the component level, sub-system level, and system level since then. XiongjianWu is a seniormaterial andphysical failure analysis engineer in the Device Analysis Engineering Teamat MicrosoftChina Suzhou site since 2019 and works on polymer related materials (such as HAF, PSA, fabric, and adhesives). Before that hewas a research engineer for 3M from2011 to 2019. He received his B.S degree from the University of Science and Technology of China and a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2002 and 2011, respectively. Yang Xu is a materials and physical failure analysis engineer working in Microsoft’s AsiaHardware Center. She ismainly responsible formaterials and physical failure analysis on HoloLens and all Surface products including color, material, and finish issues. Xu graduated from Zhejiang University with a master’s degree in materials engineering. Xiaole Zhao is a senior director of product engineering and device analysis engineering for all Microsoft’s hardware products including Xbox, Surface, HoloLens, Band, andPCaccessories. Before joiningMicrosoftChina, Zhaoworked as an MTS in AMD Singapore DA lab on flip chip packaging technology from 90 nm to 32 nm device. After receiving his Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Sinapore, he has been a research fellow to synthesis of nano materials/thin film and characterization in NTU. Qing Gu is a director of device analysis engineering, Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Washington. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and master’s degrees in electro-mechanical engineering and manufacturing. Gu has more than 20 years of experience in materials and failure analysis in consumer electronics and harsh environment electronics.
