Within his Ph.D. at Basel University and his postdoc at the ETH Zurich, he acquired a deep understanding of quantum physics and also extended his capabilities toward numerous fab- rication and processing techniques. He contributed tomore than 30 research publications and hosts a rich hands-on knowledge for investigative and analytical techniques. Patrick Maletinsky is full professor at the department of physics of the University of Basel, where he has been active since 2012. He has joined Basel University after studies of physics at ETH, the école normal supérieure in Paris and JILA in Boulder, followed by a Ph.D. at ETH Zurich and a postdoc at Harvard University. His main research interests are the development of novel, spin-based quantumsensing technologies and their applications to nanoscience and solid-state, mesoscopic physics. Next to applications of quantum sensors to fundamental science questions, he is actively involved in transitioning this emerging tech- nology to industrial applications, in part through the startup company Qnami, which he co-founded in 2017. Maletinsky received an SNSF starting grant in 2015, an ERC consolidator grant in 2020, and has been promoted to full professor (ordinarius) for experimental physics in 2021. NOTEWORTHY NEWS IRPS 2022 The IEEE International Reliability Physics Symposium’s (IRPS) annual conference will be held March 27-31, 2022, at the Hilton in downtown Dallas. The IRPS technical program includes technical sessions, keynotes and invited talks on emerging issues, tutorials, workshops, poster sessions, a year-in-review seminar, and equipment demonstrations. IRPS 2022 is soliciting increased participation in the following areas: circuit reliability and aging; reliability of RF/mmW/5G devices and system electronics reliability; and neuromorphic computing. The IRPS Conference is sponsored by the IEEE Reliability Society and IEEE Electron Devices Society.
