Frazier, FASM, president, Pilgrim Consulting LLC, was elected to serve as chair by the ASM Board of Trustees. Frazier has been a member of ASM International since joining as a student at Drexel Institute of Technology in 1977 where he earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in materials engineering in 1981, 1984, and 1987, respectively. Frazier served as ASM president in 2017 and as trustee from 2003-2007 and served on numerous committees including the AeroMat Committee, Core & Emerging Technologies Council, International Materials Reviews Committee, and the Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance (JMEP) Committee. He is the editor of JMEP and associate editor for Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A. Frazier is a recognized expert in materials selection, qualification and certification, failure analysis, light alloy development, materials processing, and manufacturing technology. He held the position of U.S. Navy senior scientist for materials engineering and served as chief scientist of the Air Vehicle Engineering Department at the Naval Air Systems Command prior to his retirement in 2019. Frazier is an ASM Materials Education Foundation trustee and president of Alpha Sigma Mu. He has authored over 90 journal publications, 40 government technical reports, edited eight books, and holds two U.S. Patents. He was inducted as an ASM Fellow in 1996 and will receive ASM’s Honorary Membership award in September during IMAT 2026 in Quebec City, Canada. ASM Officers Appoint Members In accordance with the ASM International Constitution, ASM president Dr. Elizabeth Hoffman, FASM, senior vice president Dr. Daniel Dennies, FASM, vice president Dr. Tirumalai Sudarshan, FASM, and immediate past president Dr. Navin Manjooran, FASM, appointed nine members to the Nominating Committee from among candidates proposed by chapters, committees, councils, and ASM Affiliate Society boards. This year, the committee is responsible for selecting a nominee for vice president- trustee (one-year term) and for nominating three trustees (three-year terms). Members do not select a candidate for president of the Society, because Article IV, Section 8c of the Constitution states that the office of president shall be filled for a period of one year by succession of the senior vice president.
