These outcomes reflect our commitment to acting on ideas, not just discussing them. This summer also saw the release of the updated ASM International Fact Sheet, a dynamic and concise overview of our Society’s scope, capabilities, and impact. It highlights why ASM is the home for materials professionals worldwide—offering unparalleled access to technical resources, a global network of peers, opportunities for professional recognition, and cutting-edge education. For current and prospective members alike, the Fact Sheet underscores the value of belonging to ASM: the chance to stay informed, connected, and influential in shaping the future of materials science and engineering. Our digital platforms are also experiencing strong engagement. ASM Connect is facilitating more peer-to-peer exchanges and collaborative opportunities across borders, and our online learning offerings continue to grow, providing valuable technical content and professional development for members at all stages of their careers. Looking ahead, IMAT 2025 in Detroit will debut our Executive Leadership Forum—uniting leaders from industry, academia, and government to explore shared challenges and opportunities in materials science and engineering. This event will further our mission of convening influential voices and shaping the future of our field. Another area of significant progress is our ongoing work with chapters and affiliate societies. Recent collaborations have resulted in cross-regional technical programs, joint symposia, and enhanced student outreach efforts. These activities not only strengthen local engagement but also connect our members to a broader international network of expertise and opportunity. We have also been actively advancing ASM’s role as a trusted source of technical knowledge. New publications, digital resources, and curated technical content are being released regularly, ensuring our members have access to the latest research, applications, and industry trends. These tools are helping members apply cutting-edge materials science to solve complex challenges in their workplaces and research environments. Finally, we continue to focus on cultivating the next generation of materials leaders. Through mentorship programs, student competitions, and expanded scholarship opportunities, we are equipping young professionals and FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK Business Turnaround Success: Transforming ASM from Negative to Positive Trajectory This summer has been one of tangible progress for ASM International, with major initiatives not just planned but actively executed.
