HIGHLIGHTS ADVANCED MATERIALS & PROCESSES | JULY/AUGUST 2025 61 CHAPTERS IN THE NEWS Trustee Visits India Chapter Rahul Gupta, a trustee of ASM International, made an official visit to the India Chapter office in Mumbai on May 31. He was honored by the presence of Pradeep Goyal, immediate past president of ASM, and Bhimsen Galgali, chair of the India National Council. Executive committee members of the ASM India Chapter warmly welcomed all the guests and enjoyed their visit. The group also discussed strategies for expanding ASM’s presence across India and increasing volunteer involvement in various Chapter activities. Kanpur Hosts Materials Camp 2025 The ASM Kanpur Chapter conducted a successful four-day Materials Camp 2025 on May 8-11. The event was held in collaboration with the Materials Society, India Institute of Metals (IIM) Kanpur Chapter, Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) Kanpur Chapter, and the ASM International India Chapter. The camp attracted 42 students and nine teachers from nine different schools. The students learned through a combination of talks, real-life demonstrations on materials, lab sessions, and company tours. In the physical metallurgy lab, students are introduced to crystal structures on the first day of camp. Attendees and organizers of Materials Camp 2025 at IIT Kanpur. ASM President Visits Notre Dame The Notre Dame Chapter hosted ASM President Navin Manjooran on April 29, during its annual Trustee Meeting— their 738th gathering in 105 years as a chapter. Manjooran delivered a technical presentation titled “Inventing the Future with Materials: The Backbone of Modern Technology & Innovation.” Following his talk, a dynamic discussion ensued, focusing on current and future trends within ASM and the chapter itself.
