FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK Advancing Together: From Momentum to Impact Did you know that ASM International is The World’s Largest Materials Society? To showcase the breadth of our impact and the value we provide to members worldwide, we recently released a new one-page ASM Fact Sheet. It offers a concise overview of our global footprint, programs, and leadership in materials science and engineering. I encourage you to take a look and share it within your networks—it is a great way to introduce others to who we are and what we stand for. This year continues to be one of positive momentum for ASM. From in-person engagements to strategic planning initiatives, our Society is demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and relevance in a fast-evolving landscape. Our Spring Meeting in Vancouver was a standout moment, bringing together AeroMat, ITSC, and the Quenching & Distortion Engineering Conference under one roof. The exchange of technical knowledge, innovation showcases, and cross-sector connections made it one of our most impactful gatherings. We also held the Board of Trustees meeting during the event, where board members and senior staff leaders had the opportunity to engage with nearly 100 student attendees—fostering meaningful dialogue and mentorship across generations. Shortly after Vancouver, I had the opportunity to visit the Cleveland Chapter and meet with members of our local leadership community. These conversations—focused on student engagement, technical outreach, and local programming—were a powerful reminder of the influence and enthusiasm rooted in our chapters. I also met with ASM staff for a General Body session where we discussed progress across strategic goals and the exciting work ahead. Collaboration between staff and member leadership remains a cornerstone of ASM’s success. One area we are making meaningful strides in is the implementation of recommendations from the President’s Task Forces. With final reports submitted, our staff teams have begun categorizing the suggestions and execution with timelines. Transition to action is well underway— reflecting ASM’s commitment to sustained progress in global engagement, events, membership value, and academic-industry partnerships. In parallel, we are actively shaping ASM’s 2026–2030 Strategic Plan. This forward-focused effort, informed by Manjooran
