The March 5 event included outdoor exhibitor booths for students to meet company representatives from BOINSA, Caterpillar, GTS, QATM, Quaker Houghton, and Tecnica Test. Mexico Bridges Academia/Industry Gap The ASM Mexico Chapter held a one-day “ASM at Your University” event on March 5 at the National University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City. The professional chapter expressed appreciation to UNAM’s Material Advantage Chapter, for co-hosting the event and to Prof. Bernardo Hernández, one of the organizers, for his many contributions to the Mexican metallurgy and materials community. The chapter launched “ASM at Your University” to bridge the gap between academia and industry needs in materials science. Due to the program’s success, a similar event was conducted on April 2 at Tecnológico de Morelia.
