Our 50th awardee, Professor Hamish Fraser, will present this conference-highlight Henry Clifton Sorby lecture at the IMS Symposium in Detroit during IMAT. The title of his talk will be “Application of Computational Modeling and Electron Microscopy in the Exploration and Development of Refractory High Entropy Alloys.” Joining Professor Fraser in the two-day symposium will be thirteen other awardees, with individual award dates extending back over the past twenty years. Speakers will travel from countries as far away as Australia and Brazil, with several from Europe and the U.K. A wide range of topics will be covered in the presentations. These include: • The Fe-C Diagram • Materials Performance • Dislocations • Second Phases in Austenitic Stainless Steels • New Ductile/Brittle Transition Theory • Deformation Processing • New Surfaces without Chemistry • Shock and High Strain Rate Chris Bagnall, Chair, IMS Henry Cli on Sorby Award Committee Hamish L.
