In accordance with the ASM Constitution, these nominees will be voted on at the ASM Annual Society Meeting on October 20. Once elected, the vice president will automatically become senior vice president in 2026 and ASM president for 2027-2028. In accordance with Article IV, Section 5 of the ASM Constitution, the ASM Board of Trustees also announces its nominee, William Jarosinski, FASM, for a one-year term as ASM Treasurer for 2025-2026. Officers and members of the Board who will continue in office for 2025-2026 include: Dr. Elizabeth Hoffman, FASM, who will become president; Dr. Daniel P. Dennies, FASM, who will become senior vice president; Dr. Navin Manjooran, FASM, who will serve as immediate past president; and trustees, Prof. Hanchen Huang, FASM, Christopher Misorski, FASM, Dehua Yang, FASM, Rahul Gupta, FASM, Dr. Victoria M. Miller, and Dr. Fan Zhang, FASM. Retiring from the Board at this year’s annual society meeting will be immediate past president, Pradeep Goyal, FASM, Lawrence (Larry) Somrack, treasurer and trustee, and trustees Dr. Amber Black, FASM, Prof. Pierpaolo Carlone, FASM, and Prof. André McDonald, FASM. About the President-Elect and Board Nominees Dr. Elizabeth N. Hoffman, FASM President-Elect Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) N. Hoffman is the director of innovation and university engagement at the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL), a Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratory focused on applied science to protect our environment, secure our energy future, serve our national defense, and reduce emerging nuclear threats. Hoffman is responsible for SRNL’s Laboratory Directed Research and Development Program, providing opportunities for workforce development, scientific and technical vitality, and mission agility for the DOE. In addition, she directs SRNL’s postdoctoral research program and university engagement programs. These include SRNL’s joint appointment and internship programs, offering research positions for both undergraduate and graduate students to experience a national laboratory environment. Hoffman serves as a member of the National Laboratory Education Directors Council and is a fellow of the Oppenheimer Science and Energy Leadership Program. In addition to being an ASM Fellow, she is a recipient of ASM’s Silver Medal Award and was a member of the Board of Trustees from 2020-2023. Hoffman holds a B.S. and Ph.D. from Drexel University in materials science and engineering. She became active in ASM International with the Philadelphia Liberty Bell Chapter as a graduate student. Since then, she has been active in the Savannah River Chapter and served on multiple awards committees. Dr. Daniel P. Dennies, FASM, P.E. Senior Vice President-Elect Dr. Daniel P. Dennies is a licensed metallurgical professional engineer (P.E.) in the state of California. He has 32 years of experience working in various raw material, forging, aerospace, and aircraft related industries, and 17 years as a consultant.
