The momentum we have built in the first quarter of the year sets the stage for continued growth, innovation, and collaboration in the months ahead. One of the key initiatives underway is the ongoing development of ASM’s 2026–2030 Strategic Plan. We are actively engaging with committees, councils, and our affiliate societies to ensure a broad and inclusive approach that aligns with ASM’s vision for the future. Your input and participation in this process are essential in shaping the direction of our Society. The President’s Task Forces continue to make significant strides. The teams are finalizing their recommendations, which will be presented to the Board. These recommendations will provide valuable insights to guide ASM’s strategic initiatives, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of materials science and engineering. ASM’s commitment to financial stability remains a top priority. With our 2025 budget now operating nearly in the green, we are reinforcing the long-term sustainability of the Society. A key factor in this success has been our strategic restructuring of IT investments, optimizing resources while maintaining a robust digital infrastructure along with closure of the Materials Solutions Network and the Data Ecosystem departments. The headcount has also been reduced by 10%. Additionally, our refined events strategy, focused on two primary meetings, is creating impactful opportunities for engagement and collaboration: • ASM Spring Meeting (May 5–8, Vancouver, Canada) – Featuring AeroMat, the International Thermal Spray Conference, and the Quenching & Distortion Engineering Conference. Over 200 expo booths have been confirmed, ensuring a dynamic platform for networking and technical discussions. o 2000+ Materials Professionals – Engage with experts and peers from across the industry. o 100+ Exhibitors – Explore cutting-edge technologies and solutions. o 450+ Technical Presentations – Gain insights into the latest advancements in materials science. • ASM Fall Meeting (October 20–23, Detroit) – Co-located with International Materials, Applications & Technologies (IMAT), Heat Treat, and the International Conference on Residual Stresses. With more than 300 confirmed expo booths, this meeting promises an engaging technical and professional experience. o 4000+ Materials Professionals – Connect with industry leaders and decision-makers. o 350+ Exhibitors – Showcase alongside top global companies. o 500+ Technical Presentations – Stay at the forefront of materials innovation. If you are interested in organizing a symposium or session at these meetings, we encourage you to get involved—your contributions are invaluable in strengthening the technical program. We have also prepared an ASM Fact Sheet (p 65-66), which provides an overview of our Society in a nutshell. With around 16,000 members in 79 countries, ASM is the world’s largest organization for materials professionals. This fact sheet serves as a valuable resource for under- standing ASM’s reach, impact, and contributions to the field. Additionally, ASM’s education programs continue to perform well. If you are looking to expand your knowledge or develop your team’s skills, consider enrolling in one of our upcoming courses. Another exciting opportunity is the open call for volunteer positions within ASM. We are looking for dedicated members to bring their expertise and leadership Manjooran
