Jazz and big band era musicians needed new cymbal designs to express their music. Fate intervened and an Armenian businessman turned cymbalsmith began making Turkish cymbals in America, continuing the Zildjian legacy. Today, a renaissance of independent cymbalsmiths continue the art of bronze metalworking, handhammering blanks into works of art and percussive instruments.
