DomesDay 2024: Thank You for Participating Alpha Sigma Mu Lecture and Honorary Membership Award Alpha Sigma Mu (AΣM) is the international honor society for materials science and engineering. It is incorporated in the State of Ohio as a charitable 501(c)(3) organization and is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies. The Society was founded in 1932 and has had a close association with ASM International since 1957. Regular membership in AΣM is granted to outstanding undergraduate students or graduate students possessing the qualities of integrity, leadership, and initiative. At this year’s annual meeting at ASM’s IMAT 2024 event, Prof. Brajendra Mishra, (Worcester Polytechnic Institute) presented an outstanding Alpha Sigma Mu Lecture entitled “Materials Regeneration for Societal Sustainment” and was made an Honorary member of the Society. Honorary Membership is granted to an individual who has achieved an exceptionally high standing in the materials science and engineering profession, and only to the AΣM Speaker at the Society’s Annual Meeting. On this occasion, four past presidents joined in presenting the Honorary Membership Award to Prof. Mishra. Current officers of AΣM include: President Diana A.
