HIGHLIGHTS ADVANCED MATERIALS & PROCESSES | SEPTEMBER 2024 67 EMERGING PROFESSIONALS FROM THE FOUNDATION Invitation to a Materials Celebration at the Dome I am thrilled to extend a personal invitation to you for an evening of celebration, innovation, and community at the iconic ASM International Dome on Monday, September 30. This special ASM Materials Education Foundation event, held in partnership with IMAT and ASM International, is an opportunity for us to come together and experience firsthand the transformative work that the ASM Materials Education Foundation is doing to inspire the next generation of materials scientists and engineers. The event will be a unique showcase of what makes our Foundation so impactful. Throughout the evening, you’ll have the chance to witness live demonstrations of our Materials Camp activities, which ignite a passion for STEM in students across the country. These camps are a cornerstone of our mission to educate and empower future generations and seeing them in action is truly inspiring. But that’s not all. The evening will also feature delicious food and drinks, lively music, and most importantly, the unveiling and dedication of our tribute to the significant donors of the Making a Material Difference campaign. These individuals have played a crucial role in supporting our mission, and we are excited to honor their contributions in a way that will be remembered for years to come. As part of this dedication, there is still time to add your name to this recognition if you feel inspired to contribute further to our cause. Your involvement will not only make a lasting impact on the Foundation but also strengthen the ties between ASM International and the broader materials community. Our work is vital in growing the field, attracting new members to ASM, and ensuring that materials science continues to thrive. Please note that registration is required to attend this event and space is limited. I encourage you to commit as soon as possible to secure your place. We anticipate a remarkable turnout, with over 200 attendees, so don’t miss your chance to be part of this memorable evening. To register, visit imatevent.org. I look forward to seeing you there and celebrating the incredible work we are all doing together to make a material difference. Julio G.
