FEATURE ADVANCED MATERIALS & PROCESSES | SEPTEMBER 2024 54 SECO/WARWICK EXPANDS MEADVILLE FACILITIES Seco/Warwick Group, the parent company of Seco/Vacuum and Seco/Warwick USA, has committed to expanding its manufacturing capacity in Pennsylvania by relocating a portion of its manufacturing and a metallurgical lab for vacuum furnaces from its head- quarters site in Poland to Crawford County. The 120,000-sq-ft facility expansion will benefit the community as well as the heat-treatment equipment manufacturer’s customers. The company will begin upfitting their now-empty factory floor in the Crawford Business Park, which itself was recently redeveloped. HTS HONORS PRIME CONTRIBUTORS In 2017, ASM’s Heat Treating Society R&D Committee established a new recognition for the best papers in the heat treat industry each year. To be considered for the ASM Heat Treating Society Prime Contributor recognition, papers must appear in either the HTPro newsletter, be published in ASM’s Heat Treat conference proceedings, or be presented at an HTS-affiliated conference. All manuscripts from industrial companies (not universities or national labs) are automatically considered on an annual basis. Papers are judged on several criteria, including production readiness, breadth of potential applications, and writing clarity, among other factors. The aim of the new honor is twofold—to recognize outstanding industry-focused manuscripts and to encourage submissions to both HTPro and the Heat Treat Jason Meyer and Charlie Li with the 2023 Prime Contributor Award.
