More importantly, we have seen an increasingly diverse field of qualified nominations submitted for ASM awards. In addition, more underrepresented populations are now serving in governance roles within ASM and its affiliate societies. The Women in Manufacturing and Engineering Breakfast at IMAT 2023 was a highly attended event, and was co-hosted by ASM International, AGMA, and the ASM Heat Treating Society. The IDEA Committee presents this annual event as well as offering other programming and career support. Fiscal Responsibility. During last summer’s planning session, a new strategic goal was proposed to focus on financial strength. As a result, the Board, its treasurer, and Finance Committee are in more frequent communication with the staff to track the organization’s financial health. Staff have taken improvement measures in the new calendar year that are starting to reap benefits. Together, the Board and staff are ensuring that ASM will continue to be financially strong to face the future. SUMMARY ASM has a longstanding and strong history of serving the materials community for over 100 years. Even as we look to respond to today’s market drivers, you, as the ASM membership, are in the forefront of everything that we do. As we continue to make progress on the pillars of building digital-first products, growing interdisciplinary collaborations, building global networks, and being aware of diversity issues, we do so with a keen eye on our financial responsibility to the Society. We also invite you to take advantage of all that your Society offers. Recommend an ASM course to a colleague, bring a coworker to a chapter meeting, nominate a committee member for an award, or try out the new data products.
