Through the Making a Material Difference campaign, launched last fall at IMAT 2023, the ASM Foundation will broaden its reach while also deepening the connection with teachers and students to build the next generation of manufacturing and materials engineers and technicians. Now is the time to accelerate the growth of the ASM Foundation’s proven programs to meet the greater need and provide opportunity: inspiring thousands more young people to explore materials science & engineering and technical fields. ASM MATERIALS CAMPS FOR TEACHERS 2023 STATS • 41 camps held across 21 states and 3 Canadian provinces • 581 teachers attended; 35% increase from 2022 number • Teachers came from 43 di erent U.S. states • 51% of teachers come from Title I schools (designated due to low-income students) • 79% of teachers are in public schools • Seven new camp locations; four new states o Boise, Idaho o El Paso, Texas o Memphis, Tenn. o Pratt, Kan. o Rolla, Mo. o Santa Clara, Calif. o Troy, N.Y.
