ASM will formally announce the 2023 Class of Fellows at the Annual Awards Banquet held during IMAT 2023, on Tuesday, October 17, in Detroit. Following are the members recognized by their colleagues for 2023. Additional Fellows may be elected to this distinguished body in subsequent years. The solicited guidance, which the Fellows will provide, will enhance the capability of ASM as a technical community of materials science and engineering in the years ahead. Prof. Rajarshi Banerjee, FASM University Presidential Professor and Regents Professor Materials Science and Engineering University of North Texas, Denton For exemplary application of characterization techniques to under- stand phase transformations, and struture-processing-property relation- ships in titanium alloys, nickel-base alloys, and complex concentrated alloys. Prof. Katayun Barmak, FASM Philips Electronics Professor Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics Columbia University New York For seminal contributions to the study of solid-state reactions, phase transformations, microstructure evolution, and structure-property relations in metallic films for electronic and magnetic applications. Dr. R. Raghavendra Bhat, FASM Advisor-Aerospace Menon and Menon Limited Kolhapur, Maharashtra Bangalore, Karnataka India For significant contribution in metallurgical characterization and assessment of properties during the development of castings, forgings, and rolled rings apart from detailed investigation of in-service and process failures of aircraft components. Prof. Christian Boit, FASM Chair, Semiconductor Devices, Retired Technische Universitaet Berlin Germany For sustained contributions to microelectronics failure analysis and for educating and training future failure analysts. Prof. Pierpaolo Carlone, FASM Professor Department of Industrial Engineering University of Salerno Italy For sustained outstanding contributions in the understanding and development of manufacturing processes for polymer composite materials and lightweight alloys.
