The ITSC 2023 Best Poster Winners included First place: “Critical Evaluation of Atmospheric Plasma Sprayed Deposition of Cu-based Coatings” by Mr. Martin Asuquo, Mr. Ali Akbarnozari, Mr. Mostafa Fotoohinezhadkhales, Prof. Pantcho Stoyanov, and Prof. Christian Moreau, representing Concordia University; Second place: “Modeling the Formation of Thermal Spray Coatings on Substrates with Arbitrary Shapes” by Prof. Javad Mostaghimi, Prof. Mohammad Passandideh-Fard and Mr. Behrouz Haghighi, representing University of Toronto and Ferdowsi University; and Third place: “Enhanced Abrasion Resistance of Laser Metal Deposited X120Mn12 by Turning and Diamond Smoothing” by Dr. Thomas Lindner and Mrs. Bianca Preuss, representing Chemnitz University of Technology. Main Winner (Oerlikon prize): “Antipathogenic Coatings for Antibiotics Reduction in Broiler Farming” by Mr. Lukas Möhrke (center), Fraunhofer Institute for Large Structures in Production Engineering IGP. YOUNG PROFESSIONALS COMPETITION WINNERS SEEKING NOMINATIONS FOR THERMAL SPRAY HALL OF FAME The Thermal Spray Hall of Fame, established in 1993 by the Thermal Spray Society of ASM International, recognizes and honors outstanding leaders who have made significant contributions to the science, technology, practice, education, management, and advancement of thermal spray.
