Barron’s Streetwise podcast with Jack Hough, “EVs Are Booming. Are We Running out of Lithium?” What are you working on now? I am working on new aluminum alloys for higher thermal dissipation and good corrosion resistance for camera and radar materials. This includes understanding PCB EYEQ chipmaterials’ heat generation, compatiblemetal housings, thermal-interface materials, polymeric adhesives for camera lens bonding, and thermally and electrically conductive sealers for electronic control units. Also, I am contributing my knowledge about ways to reduce the carbon footprint and decrease pollution through sustainable activities. We expect all cars in the future to have driver assistance safety systems aimed at preventing accidents. Tell us about your involvement with ASM. Why are you a member? I was first invited to do a technical review for an article in an ASM Handbook in 2018, and I’ve been involved since then. I volunteered as a Technical Book Committee member starting in September 2022. In that role, I help evaluate technical content in ASM books, identify subject gap areas, and implement ASM’s strategic plan. I am also a peer reviewer for journals including the Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance. Do you know someone who should be featured in an upcoming Face of Materials Engineering profile?
