HIGHL IGHTS A D V A N C E D M A T E R I A L S & P R O C E S S E S | O C T O B E R 2 0 2 2 4 8 FROM THE FOUNDATION Autumn Assessment Fall is finally here! We always look forward to the changing seasons, especially at the Dome. It’s such a joy to see the leaves change throughout our scenic campus. Throughout the fall we take the opportunity to assess the 2022 programs and get ready for next summer’s programming for students and teachers. Throughout the year we are also revising curriculum, updating workbooks, creating new tools for educators, and developing our website to offer more information to students, teachers, families, and ASM chapter members. We are also hoping to engage with local chapters and share with them our programming to inspire, engage, and empower future generations to create STEM solutions for 21st-century challenges. We would love the opportunity to host a chapter meeting to have a Master Teacher demonstrate some of our Materials Camp labs, discuss our programs, and share our plans for the future. If it is possible to add the ASM Foundation to your 2022-2023 schedule, let us know so we can start planning and help send out invitations. We hope these events will inspire individuals to support the ASM Foundation’s work and help us in growing our programming. If your chapter members have not participated in Materials Camps before (and even if they have), I’m sure they will love it. If you are looking for a way to become more involved in the Foundation’s work, please reach out to us today. There are numerous ways to become involved. Throughout the school year, please share the ASM Foundation programming with teachers or schools that you work with; word of mouth is the strongest tool in expanding the reach of our programming. As always, the ASM Foundation values its partnership with ASM chapters and members. The ASM Foundation will only continue to grow its reach to more teachers and students by working together with ASM members. This is the way we will best engage the next generation in materials science and engineering careers. With your help we will expand our support to teachers and students, making a difference in many lives. And again, if you are interested in getting involved with the ASM Foundation, please reach out to us today.
