The ap- pointment follows an extensive search led by a board-approved committee with the assistance of Korn Ferry, an executive placement firm. Robert’s appointment was effective at the start of January 2022. Robert brings over 25 years of progressive advance- ment to the STEM non-profit sector, including more than eight years in a CEO role. She most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS). With 3000 members and 40 chapters, AWIS champions the interests of women in STEM disciplines and employment sectors. Robert led a comprehensive governance assessment in partnership with the Board; expanded programs and services; grew themem- bership during COVID-19; increased year-over-year fundrais- ing by 100%; and developed operational diversity, equity, and inclusion practices. She also served as the first Executive Director of the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives. Under her leadership, a 73% increase in revenue was generated; a sponsorship program accounting for 70% of the operating revenue was redesigned; and the product portfolio was expanded to include new education channels and formats. Her prior positions include Program Director of Busi- ness Partnerships at the Corporation for a Skilled Work- force, Ann Arbor, Mich., and 12 years with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). In an executive role at SME, she served as publisher of the Journal of Manufacturing Systems and Journal of Manufacturing Processes. She led the integration of the organization’s tradeshows into the Canadian market, and established customized partnerships that led to significant revenue growth and adoption of the Society’s lean certification program in technical schools and government agencies. Robert is a Certified Association Executive who pur- sued graduate studies in operations management at Eastern Michigan University and received a B.A. in French literature from the University of Michigan. She and her husband Tom have three children and five grandchildren. All nominations are due no later than February 15 and all terms begin October 1. Electronic Device Failure Analysis Society (EDFAS) is seeking nominations to fill one vice president, one secre- tary, and two board member positions. EDFAS members in good standing are encouraged to nominate themselves or another member. Failure Analysis Society (FAS) is seeking nominations to fill two board member positions and two emerging pro- fessional board member positions. The HTS A&N Committee may consider any HTS member, including those who have served on the HTS Board previously.
