Please join us in welcoming the following appointments. ASM Electronic Device Failure Analysis Society James Demarest, senior engineer, International Busi- ness Machines, succeeds as president of EDFAS while Lee Knauss, FASM, director, engineering and science, Booz Allen Hamilton, remains on the board as immediate past president. Felix Beaudoin, FASM, yield engineer, Global- Foundries, is appointed as vice president/finance officer. Renee Parente, business operations program manager, AMD, is appointed as secretary. Officers serve a two-year term. James Colvin, CEO, FA Instruments Inc., Tejinder Gandhi, senior principal member of technical staff, Maxim Integrated, and Rosalinda Ring, Howard Hughes Research Labs LLC, are appointed to the EDFAS board for three-year terms. Attari Vahid, Texas A&M University, is reappointed as student board member for one year. ASM Failure Analysis Society FAS president, James Lane, director, materials sci- ence practice, Rimkus Consulting Group, and vice presi- dent, Daniel Dennies, FASM, principal and CEO, DMS Inc., welcome the following new board members for three- year terms: Thomas Ackerson, principal metallurgist, Applied Technical Services Inc., and Guiri Nash Liu, senior experimental metallurgist, Progress Rail. Immediate past president Pierre Dupont, key account manager – industry, Schaeffler Belgium Sprl/bvba, and secretary, Mark Hood, consulting materials engineer, Hood Engineering LLC, remain on the board. Officers serve a two-year term. David Riegner, materials analyst, SEA Ltd., is reap- pointed as emerging professional board member and Gladys Duran, Instituto Tecnologico de Morelia, is ap- pointed as student board member.
