ABOUT CHTE CHTE is an alliance between industry and university researchers working to address short-termand long-termgoals of the heat-treating industry. Membership in CHTE is unique because members have a voice in selecting quality research projects that help them solve today’s business challenges. CHTE is one of WPI’s Metal Processing Institute centers, which is dedicated to advancing the field of material science through research. Richard Sisson, the George F. Fuller Professor of Mechanical Engineering at WPI and CHTE technical director, along with Mei Yang, associate director of CHTE, worked closely with Haoxing You, WPI grad student and CHTE researcher, to develop this user-friendly software. The modeling part of the work was completed several years ago and earned Yang a best paper award by the Heat Treating Society. The software program became available to CHTE members in June 2020. 11 12
