Collins, FASM, associ- ate dean, professional programs, Case School of Engineering, Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), was elected to serve as chair by the ASM Board of Trustees. Collins has been a member of ASM Inter- national since 1988 and served as an ASM trustee during 2008-2011 and as ASM President in 2015. She earned both her master’s and doctorate degrees in materials science and engineer- ing at CWRU, then went to work in industry. Collins came to Case in 2013 from Swagelok, where she was a senior research fellow, bringing expertise in advanced manufac- turing. In July of 2019, she became president of the board of the Case Alumni Association—only the second woman to lead the 134-year-old association. Collins has been actively involved with ASM chapters, committees/councils, and Affil- iate Societies for over 20 years and is the recipient of ASM’s Engineering Materials Achievement Award with Swagelok (2006), elected an ASM Fellow in 2008, and will receive the Allan Ray Putnam Service Award in 2021. ASM Officers Appoint Members In accordance with the ASM International Constitution, ASM president Dr. Zi-Kui Liu, FASM, vice president Diana Essock, FASM, and immediate past president Dr. David U. The committee is responsible for selecting a nominee for vice president-trustee (one-year term) and for nominating three trustees (three-year terms). Members do not select a candi- date for president of the Society, because Article IV, Section 3 of the Constitution states that the office of president shall be filled for a period of one year by succession of the vice president. The 2020 Nominating Committee’s nominee for vice president will serve as ASM’s president in 2022. 2020 Nominating Committee Members Include: Sudhakar Bonde, Subodh Technologists, Mumbai, India (nominated by India Chapter); Dr. Janet Gbur, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, (nominated by Women in Materials Engineering Committee); Jonathan Healy, Naval Surface Warfare Center – Carderock, Wash- ington (nominated by Emerging Professionals Commit- tee); David Jones , Stryker Orthopedics, Mahwah, N.J.
