Philadelphia Honors Female Chapter Chairs The ASM Philadelphia Chapter honored past female Chapter chairs at its October 16, 2018, meeting at the Joseph Ambler Inn. Don Jordan, a past Chapter chair and executive secretary, spoke eloquently about their contributions. Toni Brugger was the first female Chapter chair in 1989-1990 while employed by Phoenix Steel. She later had a prestigious 22-year career at Carpenter Technology, serving as VP of the coil products business unit. She retired in 2015 and is now serving as co-chair of the Advertising and Year- book Committees. SarahMansuetti served as Chapter chair in 2010-2011. She works as the director of quality assurance at Rex Heat Treat and is currently the Chapter’s sustaining member and webmaster chair. She also has served on national commit- tees, including as chair, for both the Emerging Professionals and Web Committees. Jerri Jefferies served as Chapter chair in 2014-2015. She recently moved to a territory manager’s position with Praxair after 10 years as an account representative for Stru- ers Inc. She served on various committees over the years, most recently as Program Chair and was instrumental in finding the Chapter’s current meeting location. Alicia Gaydos was the fourth and most recent female chair, having served from 2017-2018. She attended ASM’s Leadership Days in August 2017. Some of her past employ- ment included Airco, Revere Copper and Brass, and Ansonia Copper and Brass. Unfortunately, Gaydos died after a traffic accident part way through her term, and is greatly missed. All four trailblazing female chairs have left an indelible mark on the Philadelphia Chapter.
