An- dré McDonald, University of Alberta, Canada, was named president of TSS. Douglas Puerta, Stack Metallurgical Group, Portland, Ore., was named TSS immediate past president and chair of the Awards & Nominations Committee. Robert Miller, materials engineer consultant, Indianapolis, contin- ues to serve as chair of the Accepted Practices Committee. Shari Fowler-Hutchinson, Saint Gobain, Worcester, Mass., continues to serve as chair of the Exposition Subcommittee. THERMAL SPRAY SOCIETY NEEDS STUDENT BOARD MEMBERS The ASM Thermal Spray Society is seeking applicants for its two student board member positions. Nominations are due April 1. Students must be a registered undergraduate or graduate during the 2019-2020 academic year and must be studying or involved in research in an area closely related to the field of thermal spray technology. SEEKING NOMINATIONS FOR THERMAL SPRAY HALL OF FAME The Thermal Spray Hall of Fame, established in 1993 by the ASM Thermal Spray Society, recognizes and honors out- standing leaders who have made significant contributions to the science, technology, practice, education, management, and advancement of thermal spray. Nominations are due September 30. TS4E HEADS TO BOUCHERVILLE The ever popular Ther- mal Spray of Suspensions & Solutions Symposium +EBCS (TS4E) makes a return appear- ance this year, with expand- ed programming. Scheduled for September 17-18 in Boucherville, Quebec, at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), this sym- posium is a chance for scientists and engineers interested in the emerging S&STS technologies to address both research challenges and development of industrial applications. This year, EBCs and CMCs are added to the list of topics that will be covered. The two-day event includes 30-minute presentations, tabletop exhibits, roundtable discussions, three-minute ele- vator pitches, and a networking dinner. Registration fees are extremely reasonable due to generous in-kind support from NRC, Polycontrols, and Tecnar. Watch for registration to open this spring.
