HIGHL IGHTS A D V A N C E D M A T E R I A L S & P R O C E S S E S | O C T O B E R 2 0 1 7 4 0 In my last MD Corner, I set your expectation that the Dome would complete Phase 1 of our Digital Transforma- tion initiative, and be ready to serve members with our new eCommerce transaction backbone by November 2017. In this writing, I am informing you that I have deter- mined to extend the timetable for the go-live of the mini- mum viable ecommerce backbone product until on or about February 15, 2018, based on critical path constraints for our new association management system, a key compo- nent of the backbone. The major implication of this decision is that, rather than being ready for members to enter our systems envi- ronment and upgrade their profiles primarily in November and December 2017, this signature follow-on activity after go-live will move out to most likely February and March 2018. While we all share disappointment in this timing, I can reassure you that the other Phase 1 Digital Transformation projects, namely the upgraded web platform, cloud-based data center, customer relationship management (CRM) system, and content management strategy and system selection are all on schedule and cost targets, and will be delivered in 2017. In fact, parts of our new SalesForce CRM are operational right now, and all the new systems will be in some form of use by ASM employees within the fourth quarter of 2017. However, the integration and testing required for the minimum viable product go-live, and the absolutely criti- cal ability to accommodate mem- bers accessing and updating their profiles without errors or difficulties during their sessions, dictate that we will not be ready until Q1 2018. During my pre-ASM career, I was both an IT and enter- prise software vendor and user, with decades of experi- ence in both, and responsible in both roles for hundreds of implementations. From that perspective, I can tell you that I have absolute confidence in ASM’s IT resources and project management methodology. While I cannot guarantee you that we will be live precisely on February 15, I can guarantee that ASM will not fail in this project, and will deliver qual- ity eCommerce transaction systems for your convenient use very soon, and within our Annual Operating Plan cost parameters.
